Quote of the day

"In the early months of recovery, only those closest to me knew that the smile on my face each day was part of my makeup. Apply lipstick. Smile. It was hard work to pretend to be happy but people really didn’t want to be burdened with my sorrow. As a result, I never really grieved for the loss of innocence, security, trust and independence. Grieving, in my mind, was weak. I was afraid to be weak."
