The morning after pill is, sadly, a necessity
in a society that has abdicated parental responsibility. But... is the
Federal Government wrong in limiting the age at which the drug should be
available? As a parent, I cannot understand why children
are even a part of this equation. Younger than 15... sex shouldn't even
be on their minds yet. But since it is, let's ask ourselves why we
aren't teaching kids the truth about intercourse.
Irresponsible sex can
cause devastating changes to the plans kids make for their future. Bye
bye college, so long Spring break, adios fraternity parties and the
latest designer tee shirt and jeans. Hello Burger King, dirty diapers,
puke stains on your Hanes three to a pack, and STDs. While the morning
after pill will eliminate the pregnancy issue, it won't remove the
emotional trauma caused by loss of self-esteem. If you think kids don't
worry about such things, you're wrong. Image is everything. Self image
is most important of all. When kids are proud of themselves, they don't
need sex to make them feel important.
Parents... please start parenting!
